Post GUI HAL not loading and "Bad character '[' used" error on E-Stop

Category: QtPyVCP

turns out that a traditional sub call does not work in the ON_ABORT_COMMAND option either. It appears that it strips out the <> characters. It errors on a e-stop saying it can't find a subroutine called "Oon_abort". I think I will have to go the custom M code route instead.

No, P1 is not used. I don't see a config modparam to disable P1 in the man pages. So, does that mean if by virtue of P1 not connected it is disabled and I can use the GPIO pins. I'd rather use P1 because it seem sserial is more problematic.

Can you tell me how exactly to use P1 pins for GPIO? Thanks.

Yes, you will only gain 1 differential input and 1 differential output

Why does unloading the sserial module cause stepgen errors?

Probably a driver bug and the 0 enabled sserial channels string
corner condition that causes a memory allocation error was missed.

The xxxxxx0 string will accomplish the same thing without triggering the error
The pins will always revert to GPIO if no sserial device is found, but
the advantage of the xxxxxx0 string is disabling the initial sserial device probe.

If you need TTL level inputs, spare encoder pins can be used

Is P1 being used? that gives you 17 GPIO pins if available.

swapped ethernet cables and its fine.

i should really get into a line of work where just discovering problems for someone else to fix is in my job description LOL

*** NEW ISSUE ***

i swapped the mobo back out because the window resolution actually fits the whole window of Lcnc.

anyway, i get an error on startup and it wont discover the board in advanced setup, but it pings 10.10.10.10

I don't know if it depends on this, but I think that in the .hal file
there is this error.
It should be: setp
not sets

LCNC should have given an error

Answering automata and Hankan, it's a nice idea, but I need to investigate more, my experience with Ethercat is limited. I'm not the main firmware developer, I only touched some part of the code in order to accomodate the hardware changes.
I'll start the documentation soon and I'll look in the source code anyway...
I would like to improve this board since I couldn't find any other open source alternatives.

Remora - ethernet NVEM / EC300 / EC500 cnc board

Category: Computers and Hardware

Does anyone else have a tip as to what I'm doing wrong? I haven't found anything on the net until now. STLink with the instructions here from the thread didn't work, stlink with the hex file here from the thread flashed successfully, according to the display. NVEM v5 - Flashing not possible. I tried with DAP-link, J-Link, ST-Link v2 standard, firmware update and firmware from github. The result was the same every time, regardless of whether it was from the Raspberry Pi or with Windows 10. Either the board is fundamentally different, which I don't believe since it was recognized, or the programmers from AliExpress are all unusable.

the error messages are:
C STLink error (9): Get IDCODE error [__main__]
C Unexpected ACK value (0) returned by probe [__main__]
C Memory transfer fault (Unspecified error.) [__main__]

Retrofitting a MAHO MH600T

Category: Milling Machines

The last few days have been busy, but we added the fourth axis and build a new enclosure for the monitor. We repurposed the original base and just added an aluminium plate. The monitor enclosure is also from aluminium we had laying around.

Now the maho feels much more modern and with the physical buttons around the display we don´t have to manually switch the 19K1 relay (thanks to the hal or2).
We just started implementing the gear change as a python HAL component (that seemed faster, than trying to modify the C-Code from the MH400 gearbox) and got it to read the gears/speeds from the machine. But the machine is currently in a state of emergeny (stop) as our hydraulic pump is striking. Not quite sure if it is the pump or the hydraulic relais/pressure switch, but for now this is stopping us from further testing until it is solved. Has anyone else also experienced problems with their hydraulic pump (a HAWE FP12M-H1)?

Hallo.
Also da ist was gewaltig falsch.

omg lol it was one of two things. a: loose connection at the driver (which one wire appeared so. b: the twisted pair wiring was the issue. im about to go back to the twisted pair to test. WHEW. im just glad i got some headway made. i was really losing my mind lol

Edit: not the twisted pair. it was just a loose wire. thank you so very much for helping me work thru this!
