My pitch on my other machine was set to .5305 inch. And 848.8 steps so I divided that in half and and entered it on the stepper scale and did a test and put it at 1 inch and that seems to be right there. Going to calculate scale and trying it on tpi didn’t work. But now I want to move the axis 1 inch on the GUI but forgot the command to move the axis 1 inch.

Got it yeah it didn’t move 1 inch it moved several more. And I changed it in the wizard wondering if it made the changes when I saved it?

There is a "Test/Tune" button in the Axis screen of PnCconf so you can check it there rather than starting the GUI up.

Yes I did that and tested it going 1 inch and it did go 1 inch but before it had a different number cause like said before I converted the pitch .5305 inc to mm and entered it on there and it was not right.

It is best to use the same units rather than convert.

I "think" in the test page when you say one inch it acually move plus one inch then minus one inch so it is really twice the distance.

Well at 848.8 it was moving 2 inches one way and 2 inches the other when I had to move only 1 inch so I cut in half on the steps and now it moves 1 inch one way and 1 inch the other way. But how do I know on the ini files that it took affect on the change I made?

The value it has in "Stepper Scale" in the "Motor" pge in PnCconf should appear in the .ini file as [JOINT_n]STEP_SCALE
