Increase A axis speed, but maintain proper scale?

Category: General LinuxCNC Questions

I saw your Amazon review and tracked you down here, What is the little cheap controller that you were able to make work with the axis?

Edit: for those from the future

Coordinate system and touch off

Category: General LinuxCNC Questions

Hi a beginner question. So I setup my cnc and I want to do a first test run. I use freecad as CAD and CAM programm. In freecad I set my origin on one of the upper corners. Then I create the toolpath. But I get exceeding limit error in linuxcnc. My machine limits are x-10  to 2000, y-10 to 1000 and z0 to -150. So my procedure is I move the tip of the endmill to the corner of the workpiece. Which is lets say in machine coordinates at x100 y100 and z-20. Then I send g10 l2 p1 x0 y0 z0. My understanding was that this sets the coordinate system 1 to zero. Then I start my program which begins with

G1 X57.000 Y4.000 Z-5.000 F120.000

But I get an error at G0 Z6.000 already. So what am I missing here? In machine coordinates I would still have the space to move 6mm up.

Z Homing

Thank you.

It all does happen fast, you'll see i had to move X (joint 0) way out so I could observe Z (joint 3) which errors out at 0.114

I swore i tried inverting that sign because i had the same idea. However, it didn't change the z motor going in the wrong direction after. I will try again here in an hour or so and update.

Also reading 6.3 here (linuxcnc.org/docs/2.7/html/config/ini-homing.html) that value must be positive. Even though it didn't throw an error when i tried. I imagine it just take the absolute value of that number? It seems like i have to invert almost everything.

I came this far, but getting no readings on 7i78 SPINDLE OUT terminal (SPINDLE- is GND and SPINDLE+ is +10V, both from VFD)
setp hm2_7i95.0.pwmgen.00.output-type 1
setp hm2_7i95.0.pwmgen.pwm_frequency 15000
setp hm2_7i95.0.pwmgen.00.scale 16000
net spindle-on <= spindle.0.on
net spindle-on => hm2_7i95.0.pwmgen.00.enable
net spindle-ramped => hm2_7i95.0.pwmgen.00.value

QtPlasmaC Error: "E word with no G70,G76,M66,M67 or M68 to use it"

Category: Plasmac

Hello everyone

I recently installed a laser on my plasma cutter to mark the origin. When I try to mark the origin of a part, I am getting the error message "E word with no G70,G76,M66,M67 or M68 to use it". Failure happens during this procedure:

1) Press "Laser" button in the DRO window
2) Move to position
3) Press "Mark Edge" button
4) Make a second move to desired origin (so it considers rotation)
5) Press "Mark Origin" button
6) --> Error: "E word with no G70,G76,M66,M67 or M68 to use it"

It happens like 50% of the time doing this procedure. I am using QtPlasmaC with LCNC 2.9.3.
Anybody experiencing the same or having a hint as to why this occurs?

Thank you!

I think in axis, I think it has to do with the ini entry HOME_SEQUENCE. I think if you remove that entry, it will remove home all button

You are correct, that works.

Thank you!

Check that drive wiring, probably wired step or dir wires to enable input.

scurve trajectory planner

Category: General LinuxCNC Questions

@Coyote,

Great news. Just some clarification: is this planner based on your work or it is based on Ruckig Lib with user @Beef : "That's why Grotius and I have decided to start this new project ...." ?

The planner is not based on Ruckig Lib. And Beef is still in contact with us.
Beef has done his Master Degree in the mean time.

The intention once was to use the Ruckig lib. Ruckig is not free in use when you want to calculate trajectory waypoint's,
want to use endvelocity's at waypoints etc.

To overcome this problem, we use our own scurve implementation based on science paper.'s
And the scurve code is open source and free to use.

It just runned a test bench at Julian's place for 13 hours without any conflict.

I just remember lots of discussion around build your own last fall and went off some of the instructions in there... either which way, its a "home brew" and I'll give the official image a go.
