Mesa 7i95T PID tuning for velocity mode

Category: Advanced Configuration

If the drive has a step/dir position mode, that is what you use
(you don't need a velocity mode even for a spindle)

Binary encoder - Sauter SK-501 turret - Strobe diagram of functions

Category: Advanced Configuration

after reading the hal file, i have a few questions.

why use a gray encoder when your code table encoder is binary?

you activate the solenoid when the selected tool is in activate position whereas the schematics show that the solenoid activates at the last falling edge before the selected tool. is it too complicated to program this? or is your solution sufficient?

you only have one direction of rotation, is it too complicated to use mux to manage reverse directions of rotation to block the turret?

New day, new problem - Home switch Z axis gets ignored?

Category: General LinuxCNC Questions

Its working like that, not sure why its setup that way, but its working perfectly. (edit: i believe its because its a NO switch?)

I also have found the fault - broken wires (sensor was okay). Fixed it now and its working again.

Fusion 360 post processor file for Plamac

Category: Plasmac

I installed the fusion360 post processor from here forum.linuxcnc.org/plasmac/38438-plasmac-post-processors#159042 and I am unable to get it to produce valid gcode successfully. I am trying to cut out a simple 10" sign and this is the error message I get every time I try to load the gcode into qtplasmac. I also cannot see the part on the screen. Attached is my post process window, can someone please guide me on how to proceed correctly making gcode files with fusion360 thanks!

I have a Mks-Sbase V1.3 and ask where does the wire labeled 'px.x' go?
(refer to remora-docs.readthedocs.io/en/latest/har...e/SPI/Mks-Sbase.html  figure 1 )
It comes from rpi gpio 25

7i73 seems to be correctly installed but not working

Category: Driver Boards

Sorry for late reply. I gave the information on discord but not here.

Was all my fault since the beginning ;(

I will try to explain in English but it's not my native language.
I did not correctly understood the pin number allocation. So I assume the first row was 1 to 20 and the second one 21 to 40.
Hence all my tests were wrong and I'm very lucky to not damaged the board.

I read the documentation several times and with a printscreen from another forum member whom is helping me a lot, I understood one row was for odd and one row was for even numbers.
Rookie mistake and waste of time for several users. Sorry for that.
Now everything is working

Thank you

CD4017 CMOS IC ? :)
Scaling should work, and see if there is a shift register component as that might also work, but scaling should be much easier.

its fine, but the following error is me, but lets ask these guys if they know how we can do this.

we have a float output from a remora quadratic counting encoder module, and we want to use it for an MPG. we have converted the float to s32, but the encoder is counting quadratic

What hal logic components can we use to make the count.....not quadratic? so it counts 4 pulses for every one click of the MPG and we want 1 click, how can we use hal to make it work?

New day, new problem - Home switch Z axis gets ignored?

Category: General LinuxCNC Questions

I checked in HALmeter and it shows that the switch is FALSE when active (same as the X and Y aixs) and TRUE when NOT-Active.

That seems wrong, The home switch should be active (yellow in halshow)  when activated.

Sounds like you need to invert the inputs

EDIT;
I was wrong, the proximity switch seems to be broken.
I will install a new switch and then it should work.

New day, new problem - Home switch Z axis gets ignored?

Category: General LinuxCNC Questions

Hello guys,
another day on my CNC router starts with a problem, coming out of nowhere, but this time i will try to make it as short as possible, but after 4 hours of trying to fix it, i am already a bit confused.

So, my cnc router has this home sequence:
1. Z Axis
2. X and Y-tandem together

Usually, when my Z axis was at the uppest position, the proximity switch was already active so the Z axis was waiting until the other axis has been homed, but now when the Z axis is already in the HOME-Position, it drives into the other direction (into the table) trying to find the switch, but why? It was already on the Home switch.
When the Z axis is not in the Home position and the proximity switch is not active, it drives up and the switch gets ignored and drives into the physical end of the axis. I checked in HALmeter and it shows that the switch is FALSE when active (same as the X and Y aixs) and TRUE when NOT-Active.
I tested it with a new Proximity switch, even if HALmeter showed that the original one is working, but same behaviour.

I have tried a couple of things like changing the direction, even i thought this makes no sense because the homing sequnce was always working since the beginning and i compared the INI with one from 5 years ago and everything is same.
I just dont get it.

The last changes i did was when trying to set up the A axis, but i have a seperate settings-folder. (i tried to run that config, but the homing problem is same)

I have attached my INI and my HAL.
Hope you can help me out again.

Thank you for your efforts and the quick reply.
I will test it tomorrow.
I have also just ordered a network card:
Intel Gigabit CT Desktop Adapter 893647 Network Card EXPI9301CT
Perhaps this will work better than the onboard network card.
