MPG wheel not responding

Category: Computers and Hardware

Hi, my MPG steering wheel stopped working, like that from one day to the next, suddenly. The rest of the buttons that I use work well, so I rule out that it is communication, it is just the pulse generator to move the axes.

It has not suffered any damage, I have put new batteries in it and I have restarted the machine several times to rule it out.

Does anyone have an idea of what could have happened, what could be the cause or what can I do to find out the fault or is it simply that the wheel has broken?

The model is WHB06B, I attached a configuration file that I had operational in case it is of any use.

i've found the cause of the problem just right now.
it's UNDERLINE in the component's name.
remove them (both in code and filename), the function works!

but i'm still confused, why the other comps with same format in source code, they must be worked well in fact...

i'm poor in C/C++, just hope someone find the reason and fix it. Thanks~.~

I have run the long ping test 3 times. Here are the 3 results for max:
First ping test: 4.2ms
Second ping test : 3.4ms
Third ping test: 15.9ms

So it didn't get any better.

Above in the attachment I had shown file /etc/network/interfaces.
There I had inserted lines for eth0 as described in man hm2_eth. Do I have to replace eth0 with enp5s0?

Greetings Anton

MS300 EtherCAT not going into OP state with CMM-02 (rev 131328)

Category: EtherCAT

We built the Ethercat from source as described in the sticky. This is not the issue we’re having.

The issue is related to the MS300 with the CMM-EC02 card and related ESD/XML file.
We searched the forum and found that the above listed person had a similar issue and got it working.
The difference between his and our system is the communication card and the ESD/XML file.

We adjusted his intitXML to align with the PDO, but the VFD is stuck in PREOP.

The VFD works with Twincat.

Mesa 7i95T: Smartserial Port 2 for Mesa Modbus RS485

Category: Driver Boards

Hello everybody

For my next project (retrofit of a weiler 160 cnc lathe) I plan to use a 7i95T because it has plenty of IO and also enough Encoder inputs (I need at least 3, maybe 4 later, for the tailstock). I have a 5.5kW Huanyang VFD which i would like to integrate via Modbus to simplify  wiring and access more drive parameters directly (spindle load or output power).
As far as I can see there is no precompiled firmware available for the 7i95T using Smartserial Port 2 (or Port 1 is also ok) as RS485?

In Mesa Modbus I will need to create my own xyz.comp file and compile it. I suppose this has not yet been tried?
Is there a table with the Modbus registers availble for the Huanyang HY drives? In my manual there is a description of the protocol but no parameter list for the MODBUS registers.... Maybe someone can help me find such a table.

Cheers,
Dave

changing firmware to 7i96s_d helped.

For anyone who has the same problem.
After selecting this firmware you have to click "accept component changes" in the bottom of the window

Sounds like you did not select the basic 7I96S firmware (7i96s_d)
when you started LinuxCNC (the default is 7i96s_7I74 which has 2 sserial ports)

This default choice has been fixed on the latest pncconf but for the current
version you need to select 7i96s_d firmware.

Unable to finish Pncconf Wizzard

Category: PnCConf Wizard

Hi,
I am trying to set up my machine in linuxcnc and I can't sucessfully do that.
I have new install of linux and linuxcnc from oficial .iso downloaded few days ago.

When I follow Pncconf Wizzard to set up machine on mesa 7i96s card when I get to the last screen where there is "DONE" button configuration is not written.
Instead I get only dialog "do you want to quite".

What should I do?

I am not really a linux user so any suggestions please be very precise and step by step.

Hey Rod, thanks, I'm looking for the exact same information. I also tried Marco's solution, but lcnc not started, since the ini contains this line in his modification:

HOMEMOD=el8_homecomp

and Lcnc looking for el8_homecomp.so file, which I dont have.

How your solution working? Could you please sahre the ini? Where have to put the comp files, near the cia402.comp?

Thanks.
