I setup my machine with the IT locale and I get the same error, plasmac.thc-feed-rate is zero.today i got busy done a fresh install without touching anything left us, then installed master 2.9 copied my configuration and now plasmac.thc-feed-rate is 1500 without line in hal. everything seems to work, we need to let Tom know

Why it didn't affect English language locales I have no idea...

I have pushed a fix for this. It seems it was a timing issue, the pin is now set later in the initialization sequence.

Hello
I added " setp plasmac.thc-feed-rate 10 " to .hal and now everything is ok. It looks like gui is not reading values.
Regards and thanks.

I just installed 1.0.56 and it works without this command. Thc is now responsive to speed change. Problem has been solved. thanks a lot

today I made a few cuts it seems everything is fine. I have the 50: 1 ratio divider, with 90 volts of arc they arrive 1.6 on the thc, it will be better to put a 20: 1 or it doesn't matter?

Which THCAD do you have? It really comes down to "resolution". For example, if you have a THCAD-10, and your cut voltage is measured to be 100v, then at 50:1, the THCAD would read 2.0 volts. This is only 20% of the available range for the THCAD. By the same logic, if you are cutting at 100v at 20:1 then your voltage at the THCAD would be 5.0 volts. Now you are using 50% of the range for the THCAD. This gives you higher resolution.
So, I would use the combination that uses the greatest voltage range of the THCAD without maxing it out constantly. For Hypertherm, the max cutting voltage is somewhere around 150v.
Here is a long-winded post I've made in the past on the same subject: forum.linuxcnc.org/plasmac/39999-thcad-1...powermax45-xp#181612

sorry for not specifying it, i have thcad 10. I had built the divider together with an analog thc many years ago now I modify it. my plasma cut to 94 volts but more than 25 amps i can't push i only have 3 kw ... but it's a good inverter with pfc not chinese, pneumatic torch s45.

Since it is a small generator the arc voltage is 92-94 from 20 to 35 amps and about 250 volts at no load, I change the divider to make 20: 1 should be okay.
