Yeah i keep forgetting this as it is not a wide spread issue, but Asus boards, enabling Q Fan speed will mess the latency badly as soon as it kicks in.

On your last BIOs picture:

forum.linuxcnc.org/39-pncconf/52373-pncc...7i76?start=10#298822

There were 8 sub options. All of them need to be investigated.
My guess is that you still have some power management / EIST /Cool and Quiet
/  Turbo mode / CPU speed switching enabled This will ruin the system latency

Upload the pictures here on the forum, not on third party sites.
I can see the pictures, there is nothing useful there to troubleshoot.
If the PC gets stuck as in the picture and it does not go further, first thing i would check is the CPU cooling, then power supply, but first, try to boot Linux Mint on it, if this works then it would probably be something kernel/hardware related, so there are still options, easy ones, but if it does not = the PC is not OK.

Also, if there was a working configuration, launching
LinuxCNC (say by typing "linuxcnc" in a terminal window)
will bring up the configuration selector and the default choice
will be the last configuration that had been run.

It probably needs to be a short arc (less than 180 degrees) as the whole concept of clockwise and anticlockwise loses meaning if the plane is not defined, and if it is exactly 180 degrees there are infinite solutions.

Yes, in the end we still need the plane and normal to define the arc.

[edit] actually looking at the code in the commit the idea was to give the end coordinates the center and the normal so everything is defined.

It might be worth trying the 2.8 or even 2.7 installer, then updating LinuxCNC as far as it will go.

Honestly I have doubts about whether a 1Ghz is suitable for Linuxcnc.

It's really hard to tell to tell why & why it's failing without seeing any boot messages.

If you remove the quiet from the kernel command line in grub some messages might pop and give an indication as to why it's failing.

Reading through my own docs, I think you probably want
D;;forward;reverse
To create forward and reverse pins that output a 1 or a 2.

OLD Lathe conversion to a CNC

Category: Turning

My CNC lathe is a converted manual, but I kept it a lot more original in some ways, and much less so in others (I had a bunch of custom castings made to replace the apron and the feeds gearbox, for example)
For the kind of projects I do the layout of a conventional lathe, without full enclosure, makes more sense.
